Four members of the Brookings Rangers joined the 14U Team South Dakota squad that will skate for a title in the USA Hockey National Tournament in Amherst, N.Y., over the next week.
Local members of the team include Logan Bortnem, Isaac Dobesh, Talon Richter and Ashton Witte. Team South Dakota is competing in the Youth Tier 14U 1A division and has pool-play games starting Thursday.
Team SD opens play at 8 a.m. Thursday against the Idahlo Jr. Steelers before taking on the Oklahoma City Oil Kings at 7:15 p.m. Friday. They wrap up pool play against the Charleston Jr. Stingrays in a 7:15 p.m. game Saturday.
