SIOUX FALLS – Inclement weather ended the Dakota Relays with a few events remaining on Saturday at Howard Wood Field, but not before area athletes turned in some stellar performances.

The Deubrook Area girls posted wins in both the Class B 4x200- and 4x800-meter relays. The Dolphins broke the tape in 1 minute, 49.73 seconds in the 4x200, while Lake Preston placed fourth in 1:50.58 and Colman-Egan was sixth in 1:51.48.

Deubrook won the girls’ 4x800 in 10:00.13 and also finished second in the 1,600 Sprint Medley relay in 4:20.58, while Lake Preston placed fourth in 4:29.81.

The Hawks raced to a second-place finish in the B 4x100-meter relay in 52.89 seconds as the Divers finished seventh in 53.71.

Individually, Brookings Ellie Abraham placed third in the 1,600 in a time of 5:08.38.

In the boys’ races, Colman-Egan had a solid showing in the relays as well, placing sixth in the 4x100 in 46.79.
