DANBURY, Conn. — South Dakota State’s Julia Werkhoven and Paige Wellendorf were honored this week as members of the 2024 All-ECAC Equestrian Team.
A senior from Tempe, Arizona, Werkhoven was one of five student-athletes named to the All-ECAC Flat Team. During the regular season, Werkhoven posted a 7-3 record in head-to-head competition in the event and averaged 77.1 points per ride.
In addition, Werkhoven was one of five recipients of the ECAC Equestrian Sportsmanship Award.
A junior from Kearney, Missouri, Wellendorf compiled a 6-2-2 record in head-to-head competition to earn a spot on the All-ECAC Horsemanship Team. She tallied a team-best 73.0 points per round.
South Dakota State turned in a 3-7 regular season record and was seeded fourth in this week’s ECAC Dual Discipline Equestrian Championship, which was held in Rancho Murieta, California.
