SIOUX FALLS – South Dakota State hurdler Nick Wessels was named Summit League’s Male Track Athlete of the Week.
The junior from Urbandale, Iowa, turned in an 8.09-second clocking to take first place in the 60-meter hurdles finals at the SDSU Holiday Invite on Friday.
Wessels’ mark set a new meet record and is just off from his 8.07 personal best that puts him at second on the program’s indoor top-10 list.
SDSU is host to North Dakota in a dual Jan. 18.
