WATERTOWN – Brookings’ Ellie Abraham, Madison Gray, Baylee Tetzlaff and Sydney Maher won the medley relay in a meet-record time of 4 minutes, 15.65 seconds at the 57th Watoma Relays on Friday at Allen Mitchell Field.

Bobcat girls break medley relay record at Watoma Relays

WATERTOWN – Brookings’ Ellie Abraham, Madison Gray, Baylee Tetzlaff and Sydney Maher won the medley relay in a meet-record time of 4 minutes, 15.65 seconds at the 57th Watoma Relays on Friday at Allen Mitchell Field.

The previous record of 4:17.93 was set by a team from Huron in 2000.

Abraham added a victory in the 1,600-meter run with a 5:10.03 clocking.

Kailee Bartels was runner-up in the 100-meter hurdles in 15.66 seconds.

Maher took fourth in the 100 (12.74); Emma Hardin was fifth in the long jump (15 feet, 7 1/2 inches); Amanda Kees ended up sixth in the 300 hurdles (49.25); Ellie Hegdahl took seventh in the 100 hurdles (16.42) and Brooke Wika finished eighth in the 800 (2:36).

The Bobcats were fourth in the 4x100 (51.22), 4x200 (1:51.98) and 4x400 (4:15.44) relays while adding a sixth-place showing in the 4x800 (10:50.3).

On the boys’ side, Greg Opdahl took fourth in the 1,600 in 4:44.67. Dillon Jensen matched that finish in the discus (140-8) as did Devin Coughlin in the triple jump (39-11 1/2).

Oscar Kavanagh was fifth in the 800 (2:09.04). Placing sixth were Reece Weber in the 400 (52.37) and Kesmond Willert in the pole vault (11-6). Eddie Miller took seventh in the shot put (43-6 1/2).

Brookings placed fourth in the 4x800 (8:56.97), fifth in the 4x100 (47.36), and sixth in both the 4x200 (1:38.4) and 4x400 (3:39.85).

Class A-B

Arlington’s Brylee Hennrich had a solid day, winning the 400-meter dash in 1:02.41 and the 800-meter run with a 2:34 clocking. She was also third in the 200 in 28.14.

Jade Gallagher took second in the 100 hurdles (17.99) and third in the high jump (4-5). Jayna Haufschild was runner-up in the long jump with a mark of 14-2 1/2.

Makayla Nelson was fourth in the discus (89-0) and the shot put (29-6 1/2).

Placing fifth were Mady Gilbertson in the 400 (1:07.68) and Tanley Goebel in the 200 (29.19). Kirsten Meyers was seventh in the 300 hurdles (1:00.01) and eighth in the 100 hurdles (20.6). Kasey Pistulka crossed in eighth in both the 100 (15.96) and 100 hurdles (30.63).

For the boys, Will Parry paced the Cardinals with a third-place showing in the 800 in a time of 2:19.64.

Casey Stegeman took fourth in the discus (113-4) and Tyler Jensen wound up fifth in the shot put (37-7 1/2). Mason Bunker took seventh in the 3,200 (13:26.08). Finishing eighth were Gavin Holland in the 100 (12.08) and Scott Sampson in the long jump (16-7 1/2).
