HARRISBURG – The host Tigers held off the Bobcats 46-44 in an Eastern South Dakota Conference girls’ basketball game Friday night.

Harrisburg edges Brookings 46-44

HARRISBURG – The host Tigers held off the Bobcats 46-44 in an Eastern South Dakota Conference girls’ basketball game Friday night.

Brookings led 13-10 after a quarter and 24-20 at halftime; however, Harrisburg was up 36-33 heading to the fourth.

Jeniah Ugofsky finished with 16 points and eight rebounds. She made seven of her final eight free-throw attempts to help the Tigers seal the win.

Sydney Halling added nine points and Kiki Berndt eight, seven of which came in the second half.

Brookings got 16 points and seven boards from Michaela Jewett.

Johanna Miller contributed eight points and six rebounds. Megan Gilk and Ava Burns both had six points, while Alli Gordon and Grace Eggebrecht chipped in with four apiece.

Brookings (6-7, 6-5) is host to Mitchell on Monday at 7 p.m. and Harrisburg (11-3, 10-2) travels to Watertown on Tuesday.

 Flandreau 56, Sioux Valley 45

FLANDREAU – Senior Kathy Parsley broke the school record for career assists as the Fliers topped the Cossacks in a Big East Conference/Lake Central Conference game.

Hannah Parsley posted a double-double of 19 points and 17 rebounds. Kathy Parsley totaled 11 points and nine boards.

For the Cossacks, Lynsey Stevens scored 13 points and Cassie Rawden 11.

Flandreau (11-5, 5-1/2-2) is host to Parker today. Sioux Valley (11-6, 4-3/2-2) takes on Deuel in the front end of a doubleheader Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in Volga.

 Lake Preston 57, Colman-Egan 46

LAKE PRESTON – Lexie Larsen recorded a huge double-double and the Divers took control in the second quarter to beat the Hawks in the Dakota Valley Conference matchup.

Larsen finished with 23 points and 21 rebounds to go with a pair of assists.

Lake Preston was up 9-8 after a quarter, before moving ahead 29-14 at halftime. Larsen scored 12 points in the big period.

The score was 41-28 heading to the fourth.

Ashlyn DeKnikker contributed 17 points, eight boards, two assists and two steals. Meriah Flegel had nine points, four rebounds and three assists. Lindsay Hillestad added five points, four boards, a pair of dimes and two steals.

Colman-Egan’s Mackenzie Hemmer scored 14 points, Braiden Westley added 11, Olivia Baumberger eight and Jordan Wittrock seven.

Both teams return to action Monday with Lake Preston (10-7, 3-4) playing host to Wolsey-Wessington and Colman-Egan (5-12, 2-5) welcoming Baltic.

 Estelline 53, Oldham-Ramona/Rutland 14

ESTELLINE – The Lady Redmen were ahead 12-4 after a quarter, pushed the margin to 30-6 at halftime and led 45-9 through three during the DVC defeat of the Raiders.

Kylie Beare finished with 17 points, seven rebounds, three assists and five steals. Marissa Golas added 13 points, six boards and six steals.

Tiffany Vohlken chipped in with eight markers and Tasha Vohlken six.

The Raiders’ Victoria Malisch finished with six points and 10 boards.

Estelline (4-12, 2-5) plays host to Florence/Henry on Monday. Oldham-Ramona/Rutland (1-15, 0-6) heads to Hendricks, Minn., on Tuesday.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

 Elkton-Lake Benton 56, Deubrook Area 36

WHITE – The Elks controlled the second and fourth quarters in the DVC win over the Dolphins.

ELB led 9-6 after a quarter and pushed the margin to 27-15 at halftime. The score was 39-27 heading to the fourth, when the Elks pulled away.

Grant DeRuyter finished with 16 points, Devin Sopko added 14 and Matthew Nibbe chipped in with 11.

Deubrook’s Jack Bandemer totaled 11 points and seven rebounds. Clayton Koppatschek also scored 11 points.

Deubrook (6-9, 2-5) takes on Redfield/Doland in the Sanford Pentagon Classic today at 2 p.m. in Sioux Falls. Elkton-Lake Benton (6-10, 3-4) heads to Great Plains Lutheran on Monday.
