SIOUX FALLS – South Dakota State women’s golfer Sydney Bormann was named to the Summit League All-Academic Team Wednesday morning, as announced by the league office.
Bormann takes home the honor for her second time, sporting a 4.00 GPA in the human biology program and has twice earned Summit League Academic Honor Roll. The junior is also a two-time WGCA All-American Scholar.
Bormann shot a stroke average of 78.0 over 30 rounds this season, ranking third for the Jacks and top-20 in the Summit League. Her career 77.45 stroke average is good for sixth all-time at SDSU.
To be considered for this award, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.3 cumulative career grade-point average, have completed at least one full academic year at the current institution, and must have participated in 50 percent of their team’s completed competitions.
Student-athletes are nominated by their respective sports information directors and then voted on by a panel composed of faculty athletics representatives from each university and SIDs.
