BROOKINGS – South Dakota State remains winless in Summit League action as the Jackrabbits lost in straight sets to Indiana University – Purdue University Fort Wayne on Saturday night at Frost Arena.
The Mastodons won by set scores of 25-19, 25-21 and 25-14 to even its record at 11-11 overall and 3-4 in conference plays as SDSU dropped to 2-18 and 0-7 in the Summit.
Makenzie Hennen led the Jacks with nine kills, two blocks and five digs; Sierra Peterson chipped in with six kills and a pair of blocks; Macy Smith had four kills; and Payton Richardson finished with four blocks.
Mattison Munger tallied 13 set assists and six digs while Maddie Fay finished with 12 assists and Ellie Benson collected nine digs.
Katie Crowe had 11 kills, nine digs and an ace for IPFW while Elizabeth Fuerst and Nicole Rightnowar each added 10 kills as Fuerst finished with a pair of blocks and Rightnowar chipped in with eight digs.
Madison Jaqua netted 38 set assists and Elizabeth Britner had 15 digs.
South Dakota State travels to Fargo on Tuesday to face the Bison at 7 p.m. in another Summit contest.
