SIOUX FALLS – For the second time this season and 11th time in her career, South Dakota State’s Macy Miller was named Summit League Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, announced Monday.
The senior guard averaged 20 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game while shooting 55 percent from the field and 66.7 percent from 3-point range and going 16-of-19 at the free-throw line in two home wins. Miller had a 4.5 assist-to-turnover ratio
In the Jackrabbits’ 92-68 win over Purdue Fort Wayne on Feb. 20, Miller tallied 12 points, five rebounds, six assists and a block.
The Mitchell native logged her 10th 20-plus point game of the season with a game-high 28 points during an 82-78 overtime win against No. 23 South Dakota on Feb. 24. Miller also had eight rebounds and three assists while going 7-of-10 from the field and 12-of-15 at the line.
For the season, Miller leads the Jackrabbits in scoring with 17.2 points per game. She is also averaging 5.6 rebounds and team-bests of 3.4 assists and 1.3 steals per game. Miller is shooting 54.3 percent from the field, 44.4 percent from 3-point range and 84.3 percent from the foul line.
Miller has 2,199 career points, 78 short of the Summit League record (2,277).
The Jackrabbits are host to Western Illinois on Saturday at 2 p.m. SDSU wins the league regular-season title outright with a victory on Senior Day.
