SDSU finishes 12th at Mercedes-Benz Intercollegiate

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The South Dakota State women’s golf team shot 900 and finished 12th in the Mercedes-Benz Intercollegiate, which concluded Tuesday at Cherokee Country Club.

The Jackrabbits shot 299-299 in Monday’s first two rounds and 300 in Round 2.

Kent State won with a 22-under-par 830 (276-279-275) total and Charlotte was second at 17-under 835 (281-278-276) – 24 strokes clear of third-place LSU.

The Golden Flashes’ Karolina Stormo (69-68-68) and Pimnipa Panthong (67-69-69) both shot 8-under 205. UTSA’s Ana Gonzalez placed third with a 54-hole score of 206 (71-67-68).

Teresa Toscano tied for ninth to pace SDSU. She shot 1-under 212 (69-70-73).

Mia Seeman tied for 49th at 226, Lani Potter tied for 67th at 232 (80-74-78), Sydney Bormann finished 82nd at 237 (75-81-81) and Cassidy Laidlaw tied for 83rd at 239 (84-78-77).

Sixteen teams and 89 individuals competed in the event.

South Dakota State returns to action at the Mary Fossum Invitational on Sunday and Monday in East Lansing, Michigan.
