BROOKINGS – Northern Iowa defeated South Dakota State 169-131 in a women’s swimming and diving dual Friday afternoon at the Stanley J. Marshall Center Pool.
The Jackrabbits nished the dual portion of its schedule with a 5-1 record.
SDSU competes in the Coyote Invitational on Friday, Feb. 2-Saturday, Feb. 3, at the Midco Aquatic Center in Sioux Falls.
Divers dominate
Emily Moore won the 3-meter dive with a score of 279.30 and placed second on the 1-meter at 231.67.
Quincee Simonson won the 1-meter for the first time in her career with a score of 236.33. She finished fourth on the 3-meter with a 225.68.
Jacks continue to shine
Once again, freshman Rori Conners won the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 10 minutes, 31.63 seconds.
In the 100 backstroke, Cassie Hendricks, Annika Skogg and Katya Vakshteyn took second through fourth, respectively, with times of 1:00.22, 1:00.53 and 1:02.85.
Kristin Erf won the 100 and 200 breaststroke with times of 1:04.68 and 2:23.59, respectively.
Kristen Davis (2:10.39) and Liezl Ocon (2:10.84) claimed the top two spots in the 200 butterfly.
The duo placed second and third in the 100 butterfly with respective times of 59.21 and 1:00.1.
SDSU finished second in both the 200-yard medley relay (1:51.20) and the 400-yard free relay (3:38.04).
