Bobcat bowlers split at Canton

CANTON – The Brookings High School bowling teams traveled to Canton on Nov. 22 to take part in a dual against the C-Hawks.

The Bobcat girls moved their season record to 3-0 with a 40-10 win, while the Canton boys defeated Brookings, 49-1, as the Bobcats fell to 0-3 on the year.

Brookings will host Sioux Falls Jefferson on Friday, Dec. 3 starting at 4:30 p.m.

GIRLS

Three Bobcats tossed a series over 500 as Brookings picked up a win in the varsity match.

Brooklyn Hieb led Brookings with a 532 series including a high game of 204. Kacee Rhody threw a pair of 181-point games as part of a 516 series, and Teagen Bremmon’s 514 series including a high game of 196.

Brooke Seeley registered a 441 series with a high game of 156.

Peyton McBride (423 series, 144 high game) and Janine Warne (408 series, 139 high game) rounded out the Bobcat varsity scores.

The junior varsity girls participated as individuals but were unopposed as a team as Canton did not field a team at the JV level.

Catelyn Cernarsky posted the high series for the JV team with a 433, including a 163 high game.

Lincoln Sondreal’s 618 series was tops for the Bobcats but the C-Hawks came away with the decisive win.

Sondreal tossed a high game of 233 as part of his series.

Stanley Scubelek threw a 199 game as part of his 545 series, while Gabe Boyer’s series of 520 included a top game score of 182.

Adrian Howard tossed a 192 game in his 494 series, Dylan Scubelek had a 458 series with top game score of 171, and James Tefft’s 157 was his high mark in his 421 series to complete the varsity scorers.

Canton also won the junior varsity match, 49-1.

Brookings’ Jaiden Monell had the high series of 330.
