BROOKINGS — The Brookings Bombers White 13/14U baseball team used a four-run rally in the bottom of the fifth inning to come from behind and defeat Volga in a game at Bob Shelden Field on Monday afternoon.

The Bombers scored early on a rally in the bottom of the first inning that began with a Delton Brownell walk and a Mack Nelson single to put two runners on with nobody out. Brownell scored on a wild pitch for the game’s first run.

Waylon Carroll started another rally in the bottom of the second inning as his one-out walk set the table for him to steal second and third base and score on an error.

Volga got on the board with an RBI single by Jamison Tanderup in the top of the third inning and a two-run double and a two-run double by Trey Wyman to take a 3-2 lead in the top of the fourth inning but Brookings responded in the bottom of the fifth.

Kale Weiker led off the fifth inning with a walk and scored on a pair of errors to tie the game at 3-3. Jaxson Neuharth’s singles put runners on the corners before he advanced to second base on defensive indifference.

Nelson drew a walk to load the bases and Hunter Vincent delivered a two-run single to give the Bombers the lead. A balk allowed Neuharth to score to put Brookings up 6-3.

Kuddyer Baugher threw a complete game allowing three earned runs on six hits with six strikeouts.

Brownell went 1-for-2 with a walk, a run scored and two stolen bases. Nelson went 1-for-2 with a walk and a run scored. Vincent went 1-for-3 with an RBI. Neuhart went 1-for-2 with a run scored.

Carroll stole two bases and Wallace stole one base.
