BROOKINGS — India Night 2024 will be at the Dacotah Bank Center on Oct. 20, offering an evening celebrating the rich culture of India.

Organized by Indian Students’ Association of SDSU, this event will offer attendees a lively showcase of dance, music, traditional clothing and a diverse selection of Indian cuisine.

India Night is an annual cultural event that brings the sights, sounds, and flavors of India to South Dakota. From the energetic beats of Bhangra from Punjab to the graceful movements of Aigiri Nandhini from Telangana, audiences will be taken on a cultural journey that spans the breadth of India.

The event aims to foster cultural exchange and create a space where community members and attendees can come together to celebrate diversity, enjoy traditional Indian entertainment, and learn about Indian customs.

Attendees will also have the chance to try authentic Indian dishes representing various parts of the country. The menu includes 10-12 selected dishes, ranging from North Indian classics like Samosa and Naan to South Indian delicacies like Chicken Biryani. There will also be a selection of vegetarian and vegan options.

All the performers will be dressed in traditional attire from various regions of India, showcasing the colorful saris of the South, the elegant lehengas of the North and other distinct clothing styles.

Tickets for India Night 2024 are available now at the Office of International Affairs, Briggs Library at SDSU and at the Dacotah Bank Center on the day of the event. Only 600 tickets will be sold. Online tickets are available through Ticketmaster, with an additional cost.

Ticket prices are $16 for SDSU students and kids under 15, and $21 for general admission. Children under 8 can enjoy the event for free.
