Jackrabbits wrap up Golfweek Classic

WOLCOTT, Colo. — The South Dakota State women’s golf team finished in 10th place at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic, which wrapped up Wednesday at Red Sky Golf Club.

The Jackrabbits were led by senior Piper Stubbs, who tied for 23rd place in the final standings. She went 2-under par on the final lap and ended up with a 218 (+2) final scorecard. Stubbs birdied four times in a five-hole stretch during Wednesday’s round.

Molly O’Hara and McKenzie Mages tied for 40th place with 222 (+6) tallies. They had identical +2 rounds on the final lap. Mages had 40 pars on the week, the most of all players at the tournament.

Reese Jansa was one shot back in a tie for 46th place. She had an even-par round Wednesday.

Shakira-Ann Kuys rounded out the lineup in a tie for 60th place (227, +11). Anna Hjartardottir tied for 69th place as an individual (231, +15).

Hjartardottir posted an eagle on hole three for the final round.

As a team, SDSU finished with an 882 (+18) final tally. Kansas finished 15-under for the team title. Eastern Michigan’s Savannah de Bock was the individual winner at -12.
