The Brookings Birding Club will hold its October meeting on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Larson Nature Center at Dakota Nature Park.
The speaker will be Amy Lewis, an ornithologist at Augustana University. Her topic will be “BBS, CBC, etc.: How Researchers Use Citizen Science Data in their Work.” The Breeding Bird Survey and Christmas Bird Count are examples of the public collecting data for scientists to use.
Brookings will be participate in the Christmas Bird Count in December. Stay tuned for details on how to participate.
