BALTIC — The Sioux Valley Cossacks won the boys’ and girls’ team titles and the Flandreau Fliers finished third in the girls’ meet and eighth in the boys’ meet at the Big East Conference Track Meet on Thursday afternoon.

Sioux Valley won the boys’ title with 172 points while Baltic finished second with 121 points, Chester finished third with 115 points, Beresford finished fourth with 106.5 points and Garretson finished fifth with 58 points. Flandreau had 53 points.

The Cossacks won the girls title with 132 points while Chester finished second with 115 points. Flandreau finished third with 110 points while Baltic finished fourth with 99 points and Parker rounded out the top five with 90 points.

Sioux Valley

Boys

Donovan Rose had a big afternoon for the Cossacks with three first-place finishes. Rose posted a time of 11.14 seconds in the 100-meter dash, 15.40 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles and 43.85 seconds in the 300-meter hurdles.

Skylar Trygstad picked up a first-place finish in the 1600-meter run with a time of 4:47.73 and Mitchell Guthmiller also finished first place in the high jump at 6-01.00.

Braden Danzeisen finished in second place in the triple jump at 39-09.00

Carson Wosje had a pair of third-place finishes with a time of 52.69 in the 400-meter dash and a time of 2:07.19

Rose finished third place in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.90 seconds.

Wyatt Nelson finished third in the javelin at 33-06 and Danzeisen finished third in the long jump at 19-11.00.

Brody Haaland also finished third in the triple jump at 39-06.25.
Sioux Valley also had three first-place finishes in relay events. The Cossacks’ 1600-meter sprint medley relay team of Hunter Steinhaus, Jakob Guthmiller, Mitchell Guthmiller and Brock Christopherson finished first with a time of 3:48.12.

The 4x400 meter relay team of Christopherson, Hiltunen, Wosje and Mitchell Guthmiller finished first with a time of 3:34.44.

The 4x800 meter relay team of Hiltunen, Wosje, Christopherson and Mitchell Guthmiller finished first with a time of 8:35.53.

Girls

Adison Renkly finished in first place in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.50 seconds. The Cossacks also had three first-place finishes in field events with Emma Gorvin finishing first in the high jump at 4-11.00 and Summer Guthmiller finishing first in the discus throw at 112-07. Tia Glaus also finished first in the javelin throw at 99-00.

The 1600-meter sprint medley relay team of Adison Renkly, Abby Haaland, Talya Vincent and Isabelle Bloker finished in first place with a time of 4:20.97.

Maci Licht finished second in the 1600-meter run with a time of 2:21.97 seconds while Liberty Trygstad finished second in the 3200-meter run with a time of 12:35.53.

The 4x800 meter relay team of Ava Gatzke, Trygstad, Licht, and Vincent also finished in second place with a time of 10:16.55.

Sioux Valley had six third-place finishes at the meet with Becka Renkly posting a time of 52.69 seconds in the 300-meter hurdles, Bloker posting a time of 2:21.97 and Savana Guthmiller posting a discus throw of 104-09. Tia Glaus also finished third individually at 31-10.50 in the shot put.

The 4x100 meter relay team of Adison Renkly, Haaland, Caitlin Russell and Audrey Larson finished third with a time of 53.79.

The 4x400 meter relay team of Vincent, Russell, Licht and Summer Guthmiller also finished third with a time of 4:25.53.

Flandreau

Boys

Brenton Westberry finished in second place with a time of 2:01.25 in the 800-meter run. Tanner Reed also finished in second place with a time of 11:11.40 in the 3200-meter run.

Micah Otto finished third at 5-09.00 in the high jump.

Girls

Faith Wiese earned three first-place finishes with two coming in individual events. Wiese finished with a time of 1:01.16 in the 400-meter run, a time of 2:19.83 in the 800-meter run and teamed with Kiley Westberry, Ella Hoffman and Rona Streitz for a time of 4:18.68 in the 4x400 meter relay.

Sadie Iott finished second in the triple jump at 32-09.25.
Hoffman finished third place in a pair of events as she had a time of 13.57 seconds in the 100-meter dash and a time of 1:04.08 in the 400-meter run.

Diamond Roy also finished third in the 3200-meter run with a time of 13:23.78.
