PIERRE — The Brookings Bobcats were swept in a doubleheader against the Pierre Governors on Thursday night. The girls team lost 4-0 and the boys’ team lost 4-1.
Both teams will begin play in the Class AA state tournament next week with an opening round game on Tuesday. Matchups are to be determined as of the time of press.
The Governors scored three times in the first half and once in the second half to earn the victory over the Bobcats.
Shae Lefers had two shots with a shot on goal and Rylee Briggs had another shot for the Bobcats.
Brayden Schreiber scored the lone goal for Brookings on a penalty shot in the second half.
