Bobcats swept in Watertown doubleheader

WATERTOWN — The Brookings Bobcats were swept as they battled Watertown in a soccer doubleheader on Thursday night.

The boys team fell to 1-2-1 on the season after falling to the Arrows 2-0 and the girls dropped to 0-3-1 after Watertown earned a 2-1 victory.

The Bobcats will return to action when they host a doubleheader against Mitchell at the Fishback Soccer Complex beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Girls

Watertown 2, Brookings 1

The Arrows took an early lead when Claire Schochenmaier scored and doubled their lead when Katie Fischer scored later in the first half.

Isabel Eide scored before halftime to cut into the lead but both teams played through a scoreless second half before Watertown earned the victory.

Eide had three shots and a goal for the Bobcats. Sophia Schmit and Grace Romsa had two shots each while Lexi Erp and Paisley te Velde each had a shot on goal. Aubrey Knutzen and Aubrey Giard had one shot each for Brookings.

Boys

Watertown 2, Brookings 0

The Bobcats registered six shots including three shots on goal. Brookings also had four corner kicks in the loss.

Forrest Giard had two shots including one on goal. Isaiah Vogt and Brayden Love each had a shot on goal. Dominic Van Hofewegen and Seth Vogt each had a shot.

Tony Nguyen made three saves for the Bobcats.
