Wednesday, Aug. 21

  • 9:35 a.m. Officers responded to a non injury accident.
  • 1:23 p.m. Officers responded to a report of an animal bite
  • 2:14 p.m. Brookings police checked on the welfare of a resident.
  • 2:18 p.m. Brookings police arrested a subject for forgery and possession of a controlled substance.
  • 3:16 p.m. An officer conducted a traffic stop in the 300 block of Fifth Street. One individual was cited for careless driving..
  • 4:42 p.m. An officer responded to the 500 block of Third Street for a minor single-vehicle accident.
  • 10 p.m. An officer was called to a downtown bar to check on the validity of an out of state driver’s license. The officer subsequently arrested an underage male for false impersonation, possession of false driver’s license, and minor in consumption of alcohol.

Thursday, Aug. 22

  • 1:20 a.m. Officers contacted an individual in the park after hours. A report was taken.
  • 5:59 a.m. Brookings police investigated a non-injury crash. A state accident report was completed.
  • 9:46 a.m. Officers responded to the 1800 block of 12th Street South for a report of an assault. One individual was taken into custody and charged with simple assault and DUI.
  • 10:48 a.m. Officers arrested an individual with active warrants.
  • 11:17 a.m. Officers took a report of stolen property.
  • 4:15 p.m. Officers took a report of a scam call.
  • 4:49 p.m. The CSO unit was notified of two dogs in a car at Walmart

Friday, Aug. 23

  • 9:04 a.m. Officers took a report of a theft.
  • 9:20 a.m. The Brookings Police Department responded to a two-vehicle injury accident that occurred in a parking lot in the 1800 block of Sixth Street A report was completed.
  • 2:20 p.m. The Brookings Police Department responded to a hit and run accident that occurred in a parking lot in the 2500 block of Sixth Street.
  • 3:57 p.m. Officers took a report of vehicle vandalism.
  • 9:01 p.m. Law enforcement arrested an individual for DUI.
  • 9:54 p.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop. One person was arrested for DUI.
  • 11:56 p.m. Officers arrested an individual for possession of a fake drivers license.

Saturday, Aug. 24

  • 12:02 a.m. The Brookings Police Department conducted a traffic stop. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence.
  • 4:55 a.m. Brookings Police Department arrested an individual for a warrant.
  • 9:48 a.m. The Brookings Police Department responded to a hit and run report at the Fishback Soccer Complex at 1100 20th St. S.
  • 9:58 p.m. The Brookings Police Department was responded to the 2200 Block of Sixth Street to follow up with questions regarding fictitious IDs.
  • 10:15 p.m. Officers responded to a call. A report was taken.
  • 11:37 p.m. The Brookings Police Department assisted the South Dakota Highway Patrol on a traffic stop. One driver was arrested.
