Brookings comes in fifth at ESD Tournament

YANKTON — Brookings tied for fifth place as a team at the ESD Girls Golf Tournament at Fox Run Golf Course in Yankton on Thursday.

The Bobcats as a team shot 376 and tied with Brandon Valley. Delilah Fuls was named All-Conference after finishing in the top 15. She tied for 12th place after shooting an 87. Miyah Foerster came in 22nd (92) and Aubrey Knutzen tied for 23rd (93). Josie Bertand tied for 36th (104) and Kamryn Streich came in 42nd (113).

Mitchell’s Maddie Childs won the tournament with a score of 74. Her teammate, Alison Meyerink, came in second (75) and Yankton’s Ellia Homstad and Watertown’s Avery Palmquist tied for third (79). Watertown’s Aspen Reynolds and Aberdeen Central’s Olivia Braun tied for fifth (80).

Mitchell took home the team title as the Kernels shot 323 as a team. Watertown came in second (332) and Aberdeen Central came in third (334). Pierre finished in fourth (365).

Up next, the Bobcats will compete in the State Tournament at the Hillcrest Country Club in Yankton on June 3-4.
