ABERDEEN — The Brookings’ boys’ golf team finished in sixth place in the Hub City Invitational on Tuesday afternoon at Moccasin Creek Country Club in Aberdeen.
The Bobcats shot 328 as a team. Watertown won the tournament with a score of 294. Pierre came in second (298) and Aberdeen Roncalli came in third (323). Aberdeen Central finished in fourth (326) and Groton came in fifth (328).
Liam Heiberger led the Bobcats and he came in 27th after shooting an 87. Nathan Brecher came in 31st (87) and Cade Zweber and Jacob Walsh tied for 32nd (88). Parker Witte came in 54th (102).
Pierre’s Sawyer Sonnenschein won the tournament and was the only player to shoot under par as he shot a 68. Watertown’s Ty Lenards and Jaden Solheim tied for second (72). Watertown’s Max Stemwedel came in fourth (73) and Aberdeen Central’s Jackson Ravellette rounded out the top five (74).
Brookings will play next on Sept. 13 as the Bobcats take part in the Yankton Invitational at Hillcrest Golf Club at 10 a.m.
