DEUEL — The Sioux Valley Cossacks pulled off a sweep in their first match of the year, defeating Deuel in three sets by scores of 25-17, 25-11 and 25-11 on Tuesday night.
Kaedyn Sapp led the way for the Cossacks offensively, racking up eight kills including three aces. Emma Gorvin and Keyra Kruse also had three kills for Sioux Valley.
Machaela Gevason had eight assists for the Cossacks while Sunny Hesby had six assists. Caitlin Russell had seven digs while Renkly had three blocks and Lacey Langland had two blocks.
Emma Sattler, Kayden Russell and Ella Kerkvliet each had two kills for the Cardinals. Russell had three assists while Kerkvliet had seven digs. Alayna Carlson and Camdyn Peterreins each had two blocks. Russell had a pair of aces.
The Cossacks will return to action when they travel to Clark/Willow Lake for a 6 p.m. match on Thursday.
