David “Lumpy” Lombard was born in Brookings, SD, to Don and Eleanor (Stubbs) Lombard on Dec. 21, 1956. He passed away at the Brookings Hospital on May 15, 2024, at the age of 67.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday, May 19, at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings at 3 p.m. A time of visitation will precede the service from 1:30 until 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will take place at First Lutheran Cemetery in Brookings.
Dave enjoyed life in his youth playing hockey and riding motorcycles. He graduated from Brookings High School in 1976.
Dave worked at 3M in Brookings, and retired after working there for 35 years. He was married to Laquita Syrstad. Dave made friends wherever he went and had the best and most loyal friends one could ever have.
Dave is survived by his sister Donna (Larry) Jensen of Arlington; his brother Tom (Peggy) Lombard of Brookings; and nephews Mick and Rick (Barb) Jensen of Brookings, Chris (Sara) Lombard, and Nick Lombard of Sioux Falls; and so many good friends that the list could go on forever.
Dave is preceded in death by his parents and a special friend, Jake Kleinsasser.
Dave’s family would like to thank the staff at the Brookings Health System for the exceptional care and compassion he received during his final days.
