Elkton-Lake Benton, Oldham-Ramona/Rutland and Estelline/Hendricks all picked up wins in football on Friday night. Arlington, Flandreau and Iroquois/Lake Preston all picked up losses in other area action.

Elkton-Lake Benton, Oldham-Ramona/Rutland and Estelline/Hendricks victorious on Friday night

Elkton-Lake Benton, Oldham-Ramona/Rutland and Estelline/Hendricks all picked up wins in football on Friday night. Arlington, Flandreau and Iroquois/Lake Preston all picked up losses in other area action.

The Elks blew out Great Plains Lutheran and ORR came back to beat Arlington. Estelline/Henddricks beat Waverly-South Shore. Flandreau fell to McCook Central/Montrose and ILP fell to Sunshine Bible Academy.

Elkton-Lake Benton 61, Great Plains Lutheran 8

ELKTON — The Elks remained undefeated on Friday as they cruised to a victory over the Panthers.

ELB racked up 298 rushing yards on the night. Colt Beck led the way with 118 yards on five carries and had three touchdowns. Blake De Vries had 96 yards on eight carries with two touchdowns on the ground. Tanner Drietz had 17 yards on three carries and two of them went for touchdowns.

Beck went 5-of-9 for 49 yards and two touchdowns. Berkley Hemmen had one completion for 42 yards that went to Myles Poindexter. Drietz had three catches for 33 yards and one of the catches went for a touchdown. Eliot Erickson had a 10-yard receiving touchdown.

ELB improved to 4-0 and plays at Garretson on Friday at 7 p.m.

Oldham-Ramona/Rutland 30, Arlington 24

ARLINGTON — The Raiders were down 24-0 after the first quarter and then scored 30 unanswered points to get the win and improve to 4-1.

Cooper Merager had a big night for ORR. He ran for 207 yards and a touchdown and was 5-of-10 through the air with 83 yards and two touchdowns.

The Raiders had 269 yards rushing as a team. Brock Eppe ran for 60 yards on 15 carries. Boyd Pooler had three catches for 83 yards and a touchdown. Brayden Hanson had two catches for 38 yards and a score.

Dylan Sievers led the Raider defense with seven tackles and Merager had six tackles. Eppe, Hyde Hanson and Riley Trygstad each had five tackles.

ORR plays at Castlewood on Friday at 7 p.m. Arlington dropped to 3-2 and hosts Iroquois/Lake Preston on Friday at 7 p.m.

Estelline/Hendricks 22, Waverly-South Shore 12

WAVERLY — The Redhawks won their second straight game on Friday and moved back to .500.

Regan Schwartz came up with a pick-six in the first quarter but Estelline/Hendricks failed on the two-point conversion. Carson Reitz had a seven-yard touchdown pass to Wyat James in the second quarter and he then threw it to Ethan Axtell for the two-point conversion. Cooper Faehnrich ran in the final touchdown for the Redhawks in the fourth quarter. The touchdown was from seven yards out and Reitz threw it to James for the two-point conversion.

Reitz was 8-of-15 for 88 yards and a touchdown. James had four catches for 50 yards and a score. Axtell had three catches for 31 yards. Faehnrich had 11 carries for 34 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Schwartz had 48 yards on 10 carries.

Braxton Joengeling led the Redhawk defense with 10 tackles and two sacks. Schwartz and James each had two interceptions. James had seven tackles and Schwartz had six.

McCook Central/Montrose 20, Flandreau 13

SALEM — It was the first loss of the season for the Fliers. Flandreau led 7-0 through one quarter but the Fighting Cougars scored 13 in the next two quarters to take a 13-7 lead into the fourth. MCM then outscored Flandreau 7-6 in the final quarter to get the seven-point victory.

Paul Parsley was 7-of-19 with 66 yards through the air. He had two touchdowns and one interception. Micah Otto had one catch for 20 yards and it went for a touchdown. Alex Poitra had four catches for 26 yards. Ben Ballard had one catch for 15 yards that went for a touchdown.

The Fliers had 108 yards on the ground. Justin Klein had 10 carries for 42 yards. Parsley had 26 yards rushing and Poitra had 14.

Klein led the Flier defense with 18 tackles. Parsley had six tackles and an interception. Ballard had 11 tackles and recovered a fumble. Otto had an interception as well.

Flandreau fell to 4-1 and has a bye this week. The Fliers will host Sioux Valley on Oct. 4 at 7 p.m.

Sunshine Bible Academy 6, Iroquois/Lake 0

IRIQUOIS — The Sharks had a tough night offensively. Brycen Blue had 48 passing and 27 yards rushing. Rexton Blue had 43 yards receiving.

Iroquois/Lake Preston dropped to 1-3 overall. The Sharks host Dell Rapids St. Mary in Lake Preston on Friday at 7 p.m.
