BROOKINGS — The Brookings girls’ tennis team was swept in a triangular at the Hillcrest Tennis Courts on Thursday. The Bobcats fell to Sioux Falls Lincoln and Harrisburg each 8-1.

High school tennis: Brookings Bobcats fall to Lincoln and Harrisburg

BROOKINGS — The Brookings girls’ tennis team was swept in a triangular at the Hillcrest Tennis Courts on Thursday. The Bobcats fell to Sioux Falls Lincoln and Harrisburg each 8-1.

The Bobcats are 4-14 on the season. They will play in a dual at Sioux Falls Christian on Sept. 19 at Tomar Park at 4 p.m.

• Sioux Falls Lincoln 8, Brookings 1

Anika Hooda had the lone win for Brookings in the first duel of the day. She beat Lauryn Fohl in the No. 3 singles match 6-4, 6-3. Sophie Tanner played Eloise Gearaets in the No. 1 singles match and fell 6-3 and 6-2.

Elle Schulte-Coplan lost to Charlotte Crawford in the No. 3 singles match 6-2 and 6-1. Yuki Zhu and Nancy Yang each lost 6-1 and 6-1. Zhu played Grace Miner in the No. 4 match and Yang played Julia Hedrick in the No. 5 match. Josie Bertrand played Angela Ge and lost 6-1 and 6-2.

Tanner and Schulte-Coplan played Geraets and Crawford in the No. 1 doubles match and lost 6-4 and 6-1. Hooda and Zhu played Gohl and Miner in the No. 2 match and lost 6-3 and 6-2. Yang and Bertrand played in the No. 3 match and lost to Hedrick and Ge 6-3 and 6-4.

• Harrisburg 8, Brookings 1

Hooda had the only win for Brookings again as she beat Addison Bohy 10-8 in the No. 3 singles match. Zhu was the closest to victory after Hooda as she lost to Maddie Von Wald 10-6 in the No. 4 match. Tanner lost to McKenzie Vickery 10-3 in the No. 1 match.

Schulte-Coplan played Erika Starr in the No. 2 match and lost 10-2. Yang also lost 10-2 and she fell to Gabby Wabwire in the No. 5 match. Bertrand lost to Hannah Frye in the No. 6 match, 10-3.

Tanner and Schulte-Coplan lost to Vickery and Starr 8-1 in the No. 1 doubles match. Hooda and Zhu lost to Van Wald and Wabwire in the No. 2 match 8-6. Yang and Bertrand fell to Bohy and Frye in the No. 3 match 8-5.
