Jackrabbit volleyball program adds two to roster

BROOKINGS — The South Dakota State volleyball program has added Meghan Roggenkamp and Finley Westover to the roster for the upcoming 2024 season.

Meghan Roggenkamp (freshman, 5-7 defensive specialist, Rockford, Minn.)

Roggenkamp enrolls at South Dakota State as freshman from Rockford, Minnesota. She was a varsity contributor for the Rockets starting in seventh grade and racked up more than 1,000 digs in her career. Roggenkamp earned all-conference honors as a junior and senior and earned team MVP honors in her senior season, where she led the team in digs and aces. Roggenkamp was also a member of the Rockford track and field team as a freshman and senior. She also earned academic honor roll recognition.

Roggenkamp is the daughter of Justin Roggenkamp and Melissa Asher. She plans to major in nursing at South Dakota State.

Finley Westover (sophomore, 6-2 outside hitter, Bousonnais, Illinois, Western Illinois)

Westover joins the Jackrabbits following one season at Western Illinois, where she appeared in three matches for the Leathernecks.

Westover was a two-time AVCA All-American in high school and earned a spot on the 2021 and 2022 JVCA Watch Lists. She earned all-conference and all-area accolades twice and led the conference in hitting percentage, kills and aces. Westover averaged 4.0 kills and 1.0 blocks per game with a .270 hitting percentage. She was also a member of the high honor roll and the National Honor Society.

Westover is the daughter of Kelly Grekstats, Courtney Westover and Todd Westover. She plans to major in physical education and teaching education.
