Kelly Evans-Hullinger and Maggie Murphy of Brookings came in second place in the South Dakota Golf Association Two-Women Championship on Sunday at the Brandon Golf Course.

Kelly Evans-Hullinger, Maggie Murphy come in second in Two-Women Championship

BRANDON — Kelly Evans-Hullinger and Maggie Murphy of Brookings came in second place in the South Dakota Golf Association Two-Women Championship on Sunday at the Brandon Golf Course.

Evans-Hullinger and Murphy shot seven-over par for the weekend. They shot 73 on Saturday and 76 on Sunday. Reese Jansa and Julie Jansa of Sioux Falls won the championship division. They shot one-over par and shot a 70 on Saturday and 73 on Sunday.

Jennifer Stalley of Pierre and Natalie Young of Rapid City won the mid-amateur division. They shot four-over par as they shot a 74 on Saturday and a 72 on Sunday. Lois Quam and Sharla Vanwettering of Sioux Falls won the senior division. They outlasted Julie King of Sioux Falls and Colette Quam of Aberdeen in a playoff hole after each team shot 21-over for the tournament.

Two-Man Championship

YANKTON — Blaine Bacon and Brodie Hullinger were the top team from Brookings as they tied for 11th in the championship division in the Two-Man Championship at Hillcrest Country Club in Yankton. Hullinger is from Brookings and Bacon is from Dell Rapids. They shot three-under par as they shot 69 on Saturday and 72 on Sunday.

Kayde Bartels of Brookings and Matt Johnson of Gregory tied for 17th. The pair shot even par in the tournament after shooting a 71 on Saturday and a 73 on Sunday.

Alex Steen of Brookings and Gunar Rang of Sioux Falls tied for 45th and shot 11-over par. They shot a 72 on Saturday and an 83 on Sunday. Brookings’ Gregg Roach and Corey Roach came in 56th after shooting 23-over par.

Carter Roach of Brookings and Alec Martin of Yankton came in 19th in the regular division. They shot 29-over par after shooting an 82 on Saturday and 91 on Sunday. Brookings’ Dan Hensen and Greg Heiberger tied for 20th. They shot 30-over par and shot an 84 on Saturday and a 90 on Sunday.
