Friday, Dec. 3

8:22 a.m. The Brookings Police Department took a report of a two-vehicle, non-injury accident. A report has been generated.

12:41 p.m. The Brookings Police Department received a report of a possible intoxicated driver in the Hy-Vee parking lot. The vehicle left the parking lot but was stopped by law enforcement for speeding. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence.

1:32 p.m. Brookings Police officers responded to the 2200 block of Sixth Street for a report of theft. A report was generated, and an investigation is ongoing.

2:41 p.m. The Brookings Police Department responded to a two-vehicle, non-injury accident near the 2500 block of Sixth Street. One of the drivers was arrested for DUI. A report has been generated.

3:04 p.m. The Brookings Police Department arrested a male driver in the HyVee parking lot for driving under the influence.

5:07 p.m. Brookings Police officers responded to the 2200 block of Sixth Street for a two-vehicle accident. A report was generated.

7:17 p.m. Possession of certain unauthorized articles in jail as a felony; warrant

8:19 p.m. Brookings Police investigated an assault in the 1200 block of Sixth Street.

Saturday, Dec. 4

10:04 a.m. Brookings Police responded to the report of a garage door being broken. A report was filed.

10:23 a.m. Officer Larsen took a report of a stolen sign from a local business. The incident is under investigation.

8:01 p.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 900 block of Fifth Street South for a stop sign violation. A male driver was arrested for DUI-first offense and the stop sign violation.

9:06 p.m. Officers were called to the area of the 1200 block of Christine Avenue for a runaway juvenile. The juvenile was later located.

9:06 p.m. A report of a runaway juvenile was taken by the Brookings Police Department. The juvenile was later located and returned home.

Sunday, Dec. 5

4:26 a.m. Officers responded to the 2400 block of Eastbrook Drive to a single-vehicle, non-injury crash. A report was generated.

4:34 a.m. Officers located a vehicle in the 500 block of Fifth Avenue that had been actively attempting to avoid law enforcement. A male juvenile was arrested for DUI.

9:53 p.m. Officers assisted Minnesota deputies, Brookings County deputies and the South Dakota Highway Patrol with a pursuit which led into Brookings County. Brookings officers terminated the pursuit.

Monday, Dec. 6

10:12 a.m. School Resource Officer Warkenthien was notified of an underage tobacco violation. An investigation was made, and a juvenile was issued a citation for underage possession of tobacco. A report has been filed.

11:06 a.m. The Brookings Police Department took a report of possible child neglect at a residence in Brookings. A report was taken, and a referral was sent to the Department of Social Services.

2:11 p.m. The Brookings Police Department received a phone call regarding recent thefts near the intersection of Eighth Street and Main Avenue. The thefts occurred during the past two weekends. The incidents are being investigated.

4:07 p.m. Brookings Police responded to the 500 block of 12th Street South in regard to a civil issue. After investigation, one subject was arrested for stalking domestic. A report was generated.
