WILLOW LAKE — The Sioux Valley Cossacks improved to 2-0 on the season as they defeated Clark/Willow Lake in four sets on Thursday night.
The Cossacks won the first set 26-24 and the second set 25-18. CWL extended the match with a 26-24 win in the third set but Sioux Valley closed it out with a 25-21 victory in the fourth set.
Adison Renkly led the Cossacks with 17 kills and six aces. Kaedyn Sapp had eight kills and seven aces. Sunny Hesby had 13 assists while Machaela Gerasch had 12 assists.
Sapp led the way defensively, tying with Emma Gorvin with a team-high 14 digs. Caitlin Russell also had 10 digs. Lacey Langland, Renkly and Gorvin had three blocks each.
The Cossacks will return to action when they travel to Parker for a match at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
