SIOUX FALLS — The Brookings boys tennis team picked up its second win of the season as it defeated Sioux Falls Roosevelt 7-2 on Saturday afternoon.
The Bobcats won five of the six singles matches in the dual including Xavier St. Pierre’s 6-2, 6-1 win over Kalep Updugraff in the second flight.
J.C. St Pierre defeated Braden Parke 6-1, 6-2 in the third flight while Kerrick Zhang defeated Andrew Brockmueller 6-4, 6-0 in the fourth flight. Henry Stedman defeated Aiden Tiesza in the fifth flight 6-1, 6-0 and Jack Tanner defeated Owen Haier 6-0, 6-1 in the sixth flight.
Stefan Nicolic lost to Boen McKee 7-6 (7-2), 3-6, 8-10 in the first flight.
The Bobcats also won two of three doubles matches at the dual. J.C. St. Pierre and Zhang defeated Parke and Bockmueller 6-2, 6-0 in the second flight while Stedman and Tanner defeated Tiesza and Hoier 6-0, 6-0 in the third flight. Nicolic and Xavier St. Pierre lost to McKee and Updugraff 6-0, 6-3 in the first flight.
The Bobcats improved to 2-6 on the season and will face Sioux Falls Christian in a dual at Tomar Park in Sioux Falls at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
