YANKTON – The Brookings competitive cheer team came in sixth place on Thursday night at the Yankton Invitational. The Bobcat dance team came in 11th place.
The cheer team scored a 206.5 and had 26 points of deductions. Sioux Falls Jefferson won the cheer competition with a score of 273.5 and had zero deductions. Harrisburg came in second (270.50) and Sioux Falls O’Gorman finished in third (251.00).
Brooking dance scored a 213.75. The Bobcats scored a 194.5 in the pom portion with zero deductions. They scored a 200.5 in the hip-hop portion and had zero deductions.
Dakota Valley came in first place with a 278.00. Brandon Valley finished in second (273.25) and Sioux Falls Washington came in third (269.00).
Brookings will participate in the Brookings Invitational at the Swiftel Center in Brookings next. The competition is on Sept. 17 and begins at 11 a.m.
