BROOKINGS — The Brookings Bobcats, Sioux Valley Cossacks and Elkton-Lake Benton Elks were all represented in the latest South Dakota Media Football Polls, which were released Friday evening.
The Cossacks are the highest area teams in the polls, as they rank second in the Class 11B polls. Sioux Valley, which is 3-0 on the season, was the only team outside of No. 1 ranked Winner to receive a first place vote ahead of their homecoming matchup against Sisseton on Friday night.
The Elks, who are 4-0 on the season, are ranked third in the Class 9AA polls behind No. 1 Parkston and No. 2 Hamlin. ELB will also host its homecoming matchup this weekend against Great Plains Lutheran in Elkton on Friday night.
Finally, the Bobcats, who scored a last-minute victory over Aberdeen Central last Friday, rank fifth in the Class 11AA poll. Brookings will put its 3-0 record on the line when they host No. 2 Pierre at Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium on Friday night.
Here are the rest of this week’s state football rankings. The rankings also include record, total points and previous ranking. First-place votes are indicated in parentheses.

Receiving votes: Hill City 8, Kimball/White Lake 3, Hanson 1.
Receiving votes: Alcester-Hudson 1.
