Colman-Egan beats Madison in four sets

MADISON — The Colman-Egan Hawks earned a victory on the road as they defeated Madison in four sets on Monday night.

The Hawks won the first set 25-17 before Madison evened the match with a 25-22 victory in the second set. But C-E closed out the match with two competitive sets, winning the third set 25-22 and the fourth set 25-20.

Brynlee Landis had 17 kills for the Hawks with two blocks and 18 digs. Elaina Rhode also had a big night offensively with 14 kills.

Finley Luze had 22 assists to go with six kills and four aces. Presley Luze had 21 kills. Kaylee Voelker had six kills, 24 assists and 14 digs.

Savanna Schmidt had two aces. Michoen Williamson, Anna Zwart and Voelker each had two blocks.

Karley Theede led Madison with 27 assists. Grace Feige had a team-high 11 kills. Ella Malone had 11 digs. Lydia Nelson had five blocks. Nelson, Malone and Kate Johnson each had two aces.

The Hawks improved to 5-1 on the season and will travel to McCook Central/Montrose for a match at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
