SISSETON — The Sioux Valley boys’ golf team won the Sisseton Invite on Thursday.

The Cossacks shot 348 as a team as they edged out Groton who shot a 349. Damon Uecker led the Cossacks as he came in second place after shooting an 80. Tate Steffensen finished right behind Uecker in third with a score of 81. Barrett Cotton came in eighth (90) and Trentyn Schmit finished in 17th (97). Kellon Tucker came in 19th (97) and Nate Larson came in 21st (102).

Milbank came in third with a team score of 361. Sisseton finished in fourth (375) and Aberdeen Roncalli came in fifth (429),

Milbank’s Jonathan Deboer won the individual tournament with a score of 77. A pair of Groton teammates came in fourth and fifth as Brevin Fliehs came in fourth (85) and Logan Pearson finished in fifth (86).

Sioux Valley will compete in the Region 1A Tournament next in Milbank on Sept. 30. That tournament is set to begin at 10 a.m.
