Estelline/Hendricks in sixth, two area golfers in top 20 in Class B Tournament

BROOKINGS — The Estelline/Hendricks Redhaws sit in sixth place as a team and a pair of Deubrook Area golfers competed on the first day of the Girls Class B Girls State Golf Tournament at Edgebrook Golf Course on Monday morning.

Chester leads the tournament with a team score of 250 on the first day while Miller is in second place with a team score of 257 and Clark/Willow Lake is third with a score of 275. Jones County and Burke are currently tied for fourth place with a score of 259.

Chester’s Jadyn McDonald leads the tournament individually after shooting a 76 on Monday while Miller’s Jayce Pugh shot a 77 for second place, Clark/Willow Lake’s Brynn Roehrich shot a 79 for third place and Olivia Mikkelsen of Potter County shot an 81 for fourth place.

Kamri Kittleson of Jones County and Olivia Olson of Sully Butes are tied for fifth place after shooting an 83 on Monday.

The tournament will resume at 8 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Estelline/Hendricks

The Redhawks are in sixth place after shooting a team score of 281 on Monday. Lita Fryer led the Redhawks with a score of 91 and is tied for 17th place while Ayla Texley was next for the Redhawks and is tied for 25th place after shooting a 93 on the first day.

Sadie Johnson is tied for 37th place with a score of 97 and Rachel Hexum is tied for 65th with a score of 104.

Deubrook Area

Brynnlee Hanson is tied for 19th after the first day after shooting a 92 while Brooklyn Gaddis is tied for 46th after shooting a 99 for the Dolphins on Monday morning.
