High school girls basketball: Brookings Bobcats win third straight by beating Sioux Falls Roosevelt Roughriders

SIOUX FALLS — The Brookings Bobcats earned their third straight win, defeating the Sioux Falls Roosevelt Roughriders 48-42 at Roosevelt High School on Tuesday night.

The Roughriders jumped out to a 14-8 lead at the end of the first quarter and entered halftime with a 21-16 lead but Brookings took a 33-31 lead at the end of the third quarter and out-scored Roosevelt 15-11 in the fourth quarter to earn the win.

Macy Even led the Bobcats with 19 points while Tess Burns had a double-double with 11 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks. Amari Ward also added eight points for Brookings.

Brooklyn Koll led Roosevelt with 13 points while Aubreigh McCall had eight points. Morgan Johnson and Mateja Cousins had seven points each and Elisebat Assefa had five points.

The Bobcats improved to 5-10 with the win and will host Sioux Falls Jefferson at Bob Jostad Gymnasium at 7 p.m. on Friday.
