BROOKINGS — The Brookings Summer Arts Festival continues the yearly tradition of hosting a non-denominational church service at 8:30 a.m. on July 14 at the Pioneer Park Bandshell. Bring a lawn chair or find a seat on a nearby park bench. There is no parking in the park.

The worship service will be led by the Brookings First United Methodist Church Worship Team. Mark Johnsen, pastor of the Brookings United Church of Christ will lead the prayers and the Revs. Robbie and Donna Flint from First Presbyterian Church will give the sermon.

A free will offering will be held. Those gifts will be used by the Brookings Ministerial Association to support their efforts to provide emergency accommodation and gas assurance to people who find themselves stuck in a difficult space.
