BROOKINGS — The Brookings Elks Lodge #1490 held the yearly Elks Hoop Shoot Contest at Sioux Valley High School in Volga on Dec. 10.

There were six divisions, three girls and three boys.

The first girls division was 8-9 year olds. Carolina Mebires won the division after going 17-of-25. Leia Hai went 8-of-25 and Charlie Warne went 3-of-25 at the free throw line.

The next division was 10-11 year old girls. Kaia Strenge won that division after going 16-of-25. Payton Warne went 13-of-25 and Reese Bastion went 10-of-25.

The final girls division was 12-13 year olds. Lydia Jensen went 19-of-25 and won the best overall award winner. Miranda Russell went 18-of-25 and Avery Schmuck was 15-of-25.

Carter Cadwell won the 8-9 year old boys division after going 20-of-25. Benjamin Smith went 18-of-25 and Pierre Jensen went 15-of-25.

Camden Cadwell went 19-of-25 and won the 10-11 division. Carter Ridgeway went 18-of-25 and Oliver Larsen went 14-of-25.

Coy Niemann was the best overall award winner on the boys’ side after going 21-of-25. Chase Mebius went 19-of-25 and Cooper Tesek went 17-of-25.
