Thursday, June 20

  • 3:38 a.m. Officers responded to an alleged theft. A report was taken.
  • 7:24 a.m. The Brookings Police Department took a report of theft.
  • 9:34 a.m. An officer took possession of a fictitious ID.
  • 10:04 a.m. Officers responded to the 700 block of Seventh Avenue for a vehicle break in. A report was filed.
  • 11:52 a.m. The Brookings Police Department took a report of shoplifting. The incident is under investigation.
  • 12:01 Police investigated a report of an animal bite.
  • 12:17 p.m. An officer responded to a non-injury accident.
  • 12:34 p.m. Officers responded to a two-vehicle, non injury accident at the intersection of Eighth Street South and Main Avenue. A report was filed.
  • 12:48 p.m. Officers responded to a suicidal subject.
  • 4:49 p.m. the Brookings Police Department took a warrant call for service. One male was arrested.
  • 10:55 p.m. Officers took a car vs. deer accident report.

Friday, June 20

  • 7:16 p.m. Police responded to a report of vandalism to a vehicle.
  • 10:09 p.m. Police took a report of a non-injury crash involving a deer.

Saturday, June 21

  • 2:17 p.m A motor vehicle was stolen from the Brookings ER parking lot. The vehicle was located and pursued by South Dakota Highway Patrol. The vehicle was stopped south of town on Interstate 29 and the driver was arrested by the Highway Patrol. The driver returned to Brookings County Detention Center and was arrested for felony theft of motor vehicle over $1,000.
  • 3:44 p.m. Officers took a report of counterfeit money.
  • 3:47 p.m. Officers took a report of shoplifting.
