BROOKINGS – Get ready for an electrifying showdown as the undefeated Midwest Maidens Roller Derby of Brookings take to the track for their long-awaited homecoming game.

Dubbed “Third Time is a Charm,” this thrilling bout will see the Maidens go head-to-head with the fierce 80/35 Roller Derby from Des Moines, IA. The action unfolds on Saturday at the Brookings County Outdoor Adventure Center in Brookings, SD. Doors open at 4 p.m., with the first whistle blowing at 5 p.m.

After wrapping up their away season, where the Maidens showcased their relentless prowess on the road, fans have eagerly anticipated the team’s return to their home turf. The excitement is palpable, as this marks the Maidens’ first home game following the cancellation of their previous two scheduled bouts.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to finally be hosting a home game,” said Maidens’ skater and bout coordinator Candy Insane. “The past season has been an incredible journey, and we’re ready to bring that same energy and intensity to our fans. With 80/35 Roller Derby coming to town, we’re gearing up for a competitive, edge-of-your-seat event.”

The Maidens and 80/35 Roller Derby, while never having competed against each other before, have an intriguing history, with many skaters from both teams having previously gone head-to-head in the junior leagues. This familiarity promises a bout full of strategic maneuvers and high-octane action, making “Third Time is a Charm” a must-see event.

To mark this special occasion, the Maidens are embracing good luck charms and superstitions,
hoping to channel positive energy into their performance. Fans are encouraged to wear their lucky charms and bring their own good vibes to the game.
