BROOKINGS – What better way to enjoy a summer evening than watching a parade of pets at the library? The Brookings Public Library will host its second annual Pet Parade at 6:30 p.m. July 21 along Sixth Avenue, in front of the Brookings County Courthouse.

BROOKINGS – The state on Wednesday reported 1,182 new COVID-19 cases and two deaths in South Dakota in the past week. Forty-two of the new cases and one death have been reported in Brookings County.

DE SMET – The South Dakota Genealogical Society has named Kay Hendricks of De Smet as the 2022 Genealogist of the Year.

BROOKINGS – The SDSU Extension Small Ruminant Team will host an educational opportunity at the South Dakota Sheep Growers Association Premium Yearling Ewe Sale on Saturday, July 23, at Magness Livestock Auction in Huron.

As small grains begin to dry down across much of the state, most management has turned to row crops and forages.
