MADISON, Wis. — The South Dakota State men’s golf team slipped one spot to 10th place following the second round of the Badger Invitational Monday at University Ridge Golf Course. Senior Ty Kretz is the top Jackrabbit on the individual leaderboard in a tie for 29th place.
Kretz tallied a 76 (+4) during Monday’s lap to bring his 36-hole score to 145 (+1). He is four shots off a top-10 placing with 18 holes remaining. Wisconsin’s William Harned maintained his spot at the top of the standings with a -10 scorecard after two days.
Freshman Jake Olson is the next Jackrabbit in the standings. He was even par Monday, bringing his overall tally to +3 and moving him to a tie for 38th place. Bryson Mercier, Tyler Seeling and Blake Schaper are in a 10-way tie for 66th place with matching 8-over-par scorecards.
As a team, SDSU is 14-over-par through 36 holes of action. Behind Harned’s outstanding play, Wisconsin leads the team competition at 15-under.
The final round of the Badger Invitational is set for 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at University Ridge.
