The Sioux Valley Cossacks, Elkton-Lake Benton Elks and Brookings Bobcats remain area teams that are represented in the latest version of the South Dakota Prep Media football polls that were released Monday afternoon.
Sioux Valley ranked second in the Class 11B poll behind first-place Winner. The Cossacks, who are 7-0 on the season, received two first-place votes while Winner received 19 first-place votes.
ELB is third in the Class 9AA polls, ranked behind first-place Parkston and second-place Hamlin. Parkston received 18 first-place votes in the poll while Hamlin, who will travel to Elkton in a matchup of undefeated teams on Friday, received three first-place votes.
The Bobcats were the third team represented as they fell to fourth in the Class 11AA after Friday’s 24-7 loss to Yankton. The Bucks took over first place in the latest poll, earning 15 first-place votes while Spearfish ranked second with six first-place votes. Watertown is ranked third in the latest poll.
Here are the rest of the polls for the week of Oct. 14. The top five teams in each class are ranked with record, total points and previous ranking. First-place votes received are indicated in parentheses.
