High School Softball

Sioux Valley will be the No. 7 seed in the Class A Softball SoDak 16 on Tuesday and the Cossacks will be welcoming the No. 10 seeded Elk-Point Jefferson Huskies to Volga.

Martial Arts

No Illusions Martial Arts, a jiu-jitsu school based out of Brookings, competed in a competition at Grappling Industries on Saturday afternoon. Three kids and one adult competed at the event and No Illusions earned a third place team medal.

High School Softball

The Brookings Bobcats (10-7) will open their state playoff run with a SoDak 16 matchup against Watertown (10-9) at the Southbrook Softball Complex at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Amateur Baseball

Rhett Zelinsky drove in three runs and the Brookings Cubs used three pitchers to throw a no-hitter to a 14-0 win over the Volga Cormorants at Bob Shelden Field on Sunday evening.

High School Softball

The Brookings softball team wrapped up the regular season with three games in the west side of the state over the weekend. The Bobcats headed back east with two wins and finished with a record of 9-7.

High School Tennis

The Brookings boys’ tennis team finished in 12th place in the State Tournament in Sioux Falls on Friday.

High School Baseball

The Brookings Bobcats were swept in a best-of-three regional series in the SDHSBA Playoffs, falling to the Sioux Falls Roosevelt Rough Riders by scores of 3-1 on Friday night and 5-4 on Saturday afternoon at Bob Shelden Stadium.

High School Softball

The Sioux Valley softball team closed out the regular season with a doubleheader sweep of Sisseton on Thursday afternoon. The Cossacks beat the Redmen by a combined score of 28-1.

High School Track & Field

The Sioux Valley boys came in first place and the Sioux Valley girls came in second place at the Flandreau Track & FIeld Last Chance Invite on Thursday afternoon.

High School Baseball

The Sioux Falls Roosevelt Rough Riders scored three times in the top of the seventh inning as they defeated the Brookings Bobcats in the first game of a best-of-three SDHSBA Regional Series 3-1 at Bob Shelden Field on Friday night.

High School Track & Field

The Brookings Bobcats had their final tune-up ahead of the SDHSAA State Meet, competing in the Mark Wendelgrass Relays at Tiger Stadium on Thursday afternoon.

High School Golf

The Brookings Bobcats finished in fourth place as they hosted the BHS Bill Scholten Invitational at the Brookings Country Club on Thursday afternoon.

The Brookings Bobcats are in 11th place after the first day of the SDHSAA State Boys Tennis Tournament on Thursday.

Amateur Baseball

The Brookings Cubs opened the season with a dominant win on Wednesday night as they beat the Lake Norden Lakers 14-1 in eight innings at Bob Shelden Field.

If you walked into the Brookings Athletic Complex last Saturday, you saw plenty of fans watching the Eastern South Dakota Conference Track & Field Championship Meet. There were all sorts of field events happening from shot put to long jump but if you walked across the street, may have seen their best-kept secret.

The Brookings Bobcats will set their aim at a spot in the State Tournament as they host Sioux Falls Roosevelt at Bob Shelden Field in an SDHSBA playoff series this weekend.

Guy English hosted a Martial Arts Tournament over the weekend in White and it was a success.

Amateur Baseball

The Brookings Cubs will begin their amateur baseball season on Wednesday night when they welcome the Lake Norden Lakers to Brookings at 7:30 p.m.
